About Us

We are a family run business borne on the back of tragedy. Two of our children were diagnosed with autism. Unable to accept this we began looking for answers and spent the last four years researching and investigating. Whilst recovering from the shock and trying to pick up the pieces we got wind that an acquaintance (who has now become a fellow soldier on the front line) had just found out that her son had autism. Her hopes and aspirations for her child were shattered just like ours and she too began to mourn for the loss of her son. Like us she did not accept what was now before her and in her quest for answers came across the SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) by Ellaine Gottschall and shared with us the many benefits, which we promptly recognised and implemented. After a year we tweaked the diet to suit our individual needs as the exclusion of most sugars seemed beneficial for our children in their development.

I can safely say that this was a major turning point after a couple of years of searching. The diet led us through different avenues of information and opened up the world of nutrition and probiotics. This inevitably led us to ‘’The Gut and Psychology Syndrome’’ by Dr Natasha Campbell McBride and further on to a book by Sally Fallon Morell ‘’Nourishing Traditions’’. This was the beginning of cultured foods in our house and subsequently the development of the business in the last year. Our lessons from all that we have experienced are that a healthy life is in the lifestyle. Cultured vegetables and fermented foods are a part of a successful migration to healthy living and should be included in one's diet. We believe this forms a vital key to survival in a now hostile environment that seems intent on keeping us sick or eventually killing us through processed foods and chemicals there in. So to you we say eat well, live well because food either heals or eventually kills.
